Amman, November 23 (Petra) – Chair of the Board of Directors of the Jordan Phosphate Mines Company (JPMC) Mohammad Thneibat met with the Ambassador of Kazakhstan, Talgat Shaldinbay, on expanding cooperation in the phosphate fertiliser industry.

During the meeting, held Sunday at the company's offices, Thneibat said JPMC's is committed to advancing economic and investment cooperation with Kazakh companies in the phosphate sector.

He expressed the company's readiness to expand partnerships and implement joint projects that enhance the added value of the mining sector in both countries' economies.

Thneibat noted the company's alignment with His Majesty King Abdullah II's vision to promote and attract investment, noting that JPMC is open to global markets and aims to diversify its partnerships while bolstering its presence and competitiveness in the global fertiliser market.

He presented an overview of the company's current status, achievements in production and export, strategic plans, investment projects, development stages and its vision for expanding into downstream industries, improving operational processes and fostering regional and international strategic partnerships.

He emphasised JPMC's willingness given its extensive experience to support Kazphosphate Company in investing in phosphate ore in Kazakhstan and in establishing partnerships that meet the needs of the local Kazakh market as well as neighboring countries.

He urged the Kazakh side to develop a timeline for implementing the outcomes of the meeting within the framework of joint cooperation.

Shaldinbay, in turn, praised the "strong" relations between the two countries and said Kazakhstan is keen to developing a fruitful partnership with Jordan, adding that his country is ready to facilitate a visit by a Kazakh delegation to explore avenues of cooperation with JPMC and tour its production facilities.

The ambassador commended Jordan's advanced capabilities in the production and application of phosphate fertilisers, describing his visit as fruitful and conducive to deepening joint cooperation.

Both sides agreed on the importance of strengthening communication between relevant companies in the two countries particularly between JPMC and Kazakhstan's Kazphosphate Company and continuing coordination to identify future areas of cooperation that serve mutual interests.

The meeting touched on ways to leverage Jordanian expertise and modern technologies in phosphate processing and production projects, as well as the possibility of expanding initiatives between JPMC and Kazakh companies, including potential Kazakh participation in joint ventures.
