Abdul Wahab Rawad, CEO of the Jordan Phosphate Mines Company, has been named to Forbes Middle East's prestigious list of the 100 most powerful CEOs in the region for 2024.

Forbes' fourth annual list recognizes leaders whose influence extends beyond traditional business practices, shaping major companies, banks, and investment groups across the Middle East and North Africa. The list reflects the impact of these CEOs in driving technological innovation, sustainability, and economic diversification within the region.

The selection process involved a thorough evaluation based on stock market disclosures, industry reports, annual company reports, financial statements, and other primary sources. Forbes assessed CEOs on their regional influence, market oversight, performance, experience, and the size of their companies in terms of revenues, assets, and market value.

Under Rawad’s leadership, the Jordan Phosphate Mines Company achieved a record production of 11.5 million tons of raw phosphate last year, marking a 1.74% increase from 2022. The company is also partnering with the Arab Potash Company to establish a new diversified fertilizer enterprise. This $600 million project aims to produce over 400,000 tons of fertilizers and phosphoric acid annually, with projected sales of around $400 million.
