Local Community Service

The Jordan Phosphate Mines Company is fully aware of the social responsibility it bears in developing local communities located within the geography of its production sites. It has opted for embracing and applying the sustainable development principles by devising a steady strategy and plan of action based on a participatory methodology to curb poverty and unemployment by maximizing the use of available resources especially non-renewable ones. It persists in innovating technologies with a major aim of achieving the highest productivity rate and motivating local communities to develop the social and local contexts. The Company implements a group of projects in the social, cultural, economic, and environmental domains. As such, the Company has succeeded in upgrading the social responsibility concept to the level of “National Mission”. 
The Company rehabilitated and developed the previous mining areas in Rusaifa city in order to improve the surrounding environment and use it in a manner that serves the community and the citizens in Rusaifa. The cost of this project which was completed and delivered reached about JD 35 million. Jordan Phosphate Mines Company fulfilled all the rehabilitation requirements and delivered them to the competent agencies in their final form in November 2023 according to the duly observed practices. 
Via its joint ventures and other activities that it implements, the Company could create direct and indirect job opportunities and the Board of Directors approved of contributing to the establishment of a specialized emergency and first aid center in Aqaba in addition to other projects such as an emergency and first aid center and a civil defense center in Eshidia area  to serve the companies there and the local community members. 
Donations:
Jordan Phosphate Mines Company provided cash donations and made commitments in 2023 for the amount of JD (18.652) million in order to contribute to the local community development and support different activities. The following table reveals the donations provided and the agencies paid to.
