Expansion Plans, Development Projects, and Environmental Initiatives

The industrial complex is witnessing significant development through comprehensive expansion plans and improvement projects aimed at increasing production capacity, enhancing applied technologies, and improving the infrastructure of the complex, reflecting the company's commitment to meeting global market demands and strengthening its environmental and social responsibility.
Expansion Plans, Development Projects, and Environmental Initiatives
  • Plans to Expand the Plants of the Industrial Complex in Aqaba including:

    • Increase the production capacity of the Phosphoric Acid Plant to become 1500 tons/day.
    • Establish an additional unit to produce fertilizer with a production capacity of half a million ton per year to be a parallel unit to the existing two units of fertilizer. The new production unit will be designed to produce kinds of phosphate and compound fertilizers.
    • Extend the storage capacity of the fertilizer depots to reach 100,000 tons.

Improvement, Developmental and Environmental Projects  Accomplished in the Industrial Complex:

    • The greening project of the gypsum stacking area. The Jordan Phosphate Mines Company/the Industrial Complex rehabilitated the gypsum piling area greening about 50% of the existing spaces. Greening will increase according to the new spaces to be available in the future.
    • The Industrial Complex has achieved a great deal transforming the control system of operational units of the old control system to a digital control system. All the production units are currently operated using the latest digital control systems from YOGOKAWA- a Japanese company.
    • A specialized plant will be established to produce the anti-foaming and anti-caking agents used in the Industrial Complex plants.
    • The operation of the furnaces and boilers of the Industrial Complex are now operated with natural gas instead of the heavy fuel oil. This helped reduce the carbon emissions at more than 30,000 tons/year and improve the environmental conditions  whilst reducing the production and maintenance costs.
    • Devise effective maintenance plans and programs for all equipment and acid tanks. In the past years, a comprehensive rehabilitation was implanted for the area of the concentrated phosphoric acid tanks. Work is underway to rehabilitate the diluted phosphoric acid tanks. In addition, rehabilitation and maintenance of the sulfuric acid tanks have already been completed.
    • Upgrading the old filling system of the aluminum fluoride product and replacing it with a new system that is one of the latest international systems using the robot technology. The new system can do the filling and packaging of the aluminum fluoride in bags ranging from 25 kg to 1000 kg according to the market requirements.
    • Completing the rehabilitation of the sulfuric acid plant at the two units of sulfuric acid production.
    • Completing the rehabilitation of steam boilers at the unit of utilities.
    • Working on implementing the plans of improving and habilitating the filters of the aluminum fluoride plant within the developmental plan of the operation systems at the aluminum fluoride plant.
    • The Industrial Complex assumes a principal role in the local community. For instance, building a specialized health center to serve the southern industrial zone.
    • Contributing to the establishment of the specialized civil defense center in the southern industrial zone.
