Let me start with extending the warmest greetings in my name and on behalf of the employees on all the production sites of Jordan Phosphate Mines Company, PLC. This company is a cornerstone of the national economy by virtue of its contributions to the development of the Jordanian mining industry. It provides the value added to “Jordan Petroleum” and employs the manpower. It increases the amount of national exports and provides the Treasury of the State with sustainable financial resources.
Shouldering the responsibility of managing the Board of Directors of Jordan Phosphate Mines Company, it is to my pleasure to confirm that the Company has already embarked on a new phase of the success journey laid and led by former chairmen of boards of directors and executive managements. This phase features expansion of the production base of the Company including raw materials and manufactured products within a manufacturing and marketing partnership with the major importers of phosphate fertilizers in Asia and other regions worldwide. It is also distinct for outreaching non-conventional markets in East Europe and Africa.
The mid-term plans of the Company aimed at producing 12 million tons per year require concerted efforts of all of us to achieve this highly aspired target- employees, shareholders, partners and government.
The Company will execute development projects that reflect its mid-term strategy entailing expansion of both production and exportation. These projects include the establishment of new plants (factories) to produced phosphate fertilizers in cooperation strategic partners on the consuming markets; which secures marketing for the whole production of the Company.
In addition, two plants will be soon opened; one of them is in Jordan with a strategic partnership between Jordan Phosphate Mines Company and the Indian Farmers Fertilizer Cooperative (IFFCO). The other plant is in Indonesia in addition to two other plants – the first is in partnership with a sister Arab country and the other one is with one of the most growing countries in the region. These two plants must be constructed in those countries under a full production and marketing partnership with Jordan Phosphate Mines Company.
The future is promising and we have already embarked on a well- considered and ambitious plan to realize the aspirations of the nation’s leader to have Jordan a regional hub of industry, research and services; and to have Jordan Phosphate Mines Company as a leading Jordanian Company that serves the national economy at the production, employment, exports and value added.
